Editing items

1. After adding the example button, its editing options will appear in the sidebar. Different items have different options.

2. Here we are interested in the options: „Text” and „Link”. For example, we edit this button to refer to our PDF file.

3. In the button text, enter e.g. „Download PDF”, click the „Update” button at the bottom of the sidebar.

4. Now we need to add our PDF. So we go back to the dashboard by clicking „hamburger” in the sidebar and selecting „Exit”.

5. In the WordPress sidebar, now click “Media”.

6. Then we upload our PDF by dragging the file to the library.

7. Our PDF file will be added, click on it.

8. Now we will need a link to our PDF, so click the “Copy URL to clipboard” button.

9. We go back to our page in Elementor Edit, click our button and paste our link there.

10. If we want our PDF to open in a new tab, click the gear icon.

11. Select the „Open in new window” option. From now on, our file will open in a new window.

12. Let’s also edit the appearance of the button. Click on the „Style” tab.

13. In the „Style” tab we will find several important things that we can change at will:

  • Typography – marked “1” – by clicking this brush, we can change the font of our button.
  • Text color – marked „2” – by clicking this field, we can choose the color for the text that is displayed on the button.
  • Background color – marked “3” – by clicking this field, we can choose the background color of our button.
  • Border radius – marked “4” – by editing these fields, we can make our button more rounded or angular.
  • Padding – marked “5” – by editing these fields, we can reduce or increase the size of the button. (it is recommended to use symmetrical values for the left and right sides, e.g. 30px, and for the top and bottom, e.g. 10px).

14. In the “Advanced” tab you will find margins and padding. Margins – marked „1” – can be used to move the button away from the elements next to it. The padding – marked “2” – can be used to move the button itself away inside it.

15. Finally, we must not forget to click the “Update” button.
